MAGUINDANAO MASSACRE: LET JUSTICE BE SERVED

The tragic massacre that happened in Maguindanao last November was one of the most devastating “political-related” crimes reported in the country. Does this just reflect that some people are really that hungry for power that they can take away the lives of their fellowmen including innocent civilians? The heartbreaking part is that, the victims were killed in a very undignified way: gunshots in the head and different areas of the body including the private parts and some of them were even buried alive. More than 50 people were killed: Families lost a loved one; children orphaned and wives/husbands widowed. Let us be united as Filipinos in calling and praying for Justice to be served for the victims of this catastrophic event. Then again, as the election is about to come, may this instance be a lesson to each and everyone of us to become responsible for the people whom we put in the positions to govern and run our country. May we be wise enough to choose those who do not only want to gain power and control but those who really have the heart to initiate change in this country where most of people are losing hope.
